Discovering perfomance bottleneck & rectifying it. *Network administration, troubleshooting & resolving hardware/software faults, repairing computer inventories *Planning, coordinating & implementing network security measures *Attending to faults & coordinating with users on the progress of the fault related work regulary A brief description of your computing and networking environment (operating systems, networking software, modems, etc.), including the connectivity of your organization to the Internet and your country's connectivity to the international Internet* ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ We have a Janux box (modem) which connects to the satellite dish to our ISP in Norway (Taide). The other side of the janux box the cable runs to the proxy server (Linux box) then to giga switch, which distribute fiber cables to the departments. In the departments their are fibre switches, and from fibre switch a utp cable is run to the router (eth0). Institution is waiting for funding from the government, in the next fiscal year (july, 2011). The sources said that it is a too short notice. As for the transport i have committed myself to pay, since Tanzania is not far from Malawi. I really want to take advantage of the bus fair. The institution will benefit as the university is building a network to join all its five constituent colleges to be on one network and I am part of that. our institution being the largest, and plans of joining the exchange point.
